Effective collaboration and engagement with a wide range of stakeholders will be a core feature of the role, including working closely with project delivery partners, technical experts, and regulators. • Ensure that the necessary resources and management infrastructure are in place to deliver the program of works, including establishment of a Program Management Office (PMO) and commercial function.

  • Work with the General Manager Safety and Technical to ensure that ARWA's technical and safety requirements are met.

Our ideal candidate will possess:
  • A demonstrated ability to lead the delivery of a complex, major project, preferably, in a remote environment and regional Australia.
  • A sound understanding of Commonwealth Government procurement and project management processes.
  • A strong understanding of, and ability to operate effectively within, a highly complex regulatory system.
  • A track record as an effective leader with a demonstrated ability to direct and draw on the skills of a diverse team of technical experts and gain the trust and respect of those in your team.
  • The ability to represent the organisation with confidence and credibility and to negotiate, advocate and influence on its behalf within a politically and culturally sensitive environment.
  • Effective communication skills, showing an understanding of others' perspectives and the ability to bring clarity to the communication of complex and contested information.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to monitor emerging and future issues and risks, identify their impact and respond on the basis of sound judgement.
  • A demonstrated ability to set and lead adherence to the highest safety and security standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in major construction projects would be desirable.
