About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Executive Communications Advisor to join our team in Dalby. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will play a crucial role in enhancing Council’s reputation through effective communication strategies to positively market Council.
You will:
- advise on and prepare communications for sensitive and complex political matters and strategic projects;
- prepare briefs, speeches and presentations for the CEO, Mayor and Councillors based on individual styles;
- advise and support the organisation to ensure quality engagement is undertaken to enhance Council's reputation with stakeholders and the community; and
- project manage the development of Council's community engagement strategy frameworks and implementation plan.
About yourself
The successful applicant will have:
- a relevant tertiary qualification in communication, public relations or journalism or be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience;
- effective planning and coordination skills to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities;
- political awareness, engagement and highly developed interpersonal skills; and
- superior writing skills, for various audiences include speech writing skills.
