This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Second Level Support guru to join our Next Payments team based in North Rocks NSW.
Reporting to the System Operations Team Leader this role is responsible for fleet optimisation and providing high quality service and technical escalation support for the Next Payments’ technical team. We are looking someone who is friendly, clever, loves a challenge and is looking to gain new skills in the future.
With new product launches, strong business growth (170 employees currently, and we expect that number to continue to increase!), and recently winning Casino and Carded Play tenders, it is an exciting time to join Next Payments!
The Role
This role will provide you with invaluable experience and opportunity for growth all whilst working in a passionate, safe, and friendly workplace culture.
You will apply your technical skills and knowledge to perform the following principal duties:
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of operations procedures.
- Create documentation for training and coaching purposes.
- Provide technical assistance and support to resolve hardware and software issues.
- Provide regular escalation support to technical team and technical partners.
- Utilise monitoring tools and system logs to build a detailed issue case.
- Replicate unfamiliar issues in test machines.
- Complete detailed analysis of escalated issues.
- Complete fleet optimisation and preventative tasks.
- Configure and support software and hardware products.
- Create and update knowledge base and procedure material.
- Operate as per processes and procedures.
- Cooperate and liaise with technical team and share information across the organization.
- Perform technical services and resolve complex issues on site.
- Assist with staging of Next Payments’ products.
- Work independently at customer sites.
- Develop/build working relationship with Next Payments’ R&D department.
- Participate and assist R&D department with new products release, following strict guidelines.
- Liaise and coordinate with external third-party service providers to resolve issues.
- Perform your allocated tasks promptly and according to the company procedures.
- Raise cases for all activities capturing accurate description of incidents/issues.
- Follow-up all outstanding cases.
- Provide consistent and accurate information when responding to queries.
- Participate as a constructive team member through knowledge sharing and team discussions.
- Share own ideas and encourage other team members to do so.
About You
- Approximately 2 years previous experience in an IT related Helpdesk/System Operations position.
- Hands on, and mechanically minded, to elevate your other technical skills.
- Previous experience with call management systems and monitoring systems.
- Excellent PC skills.
- Software set up and support experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Friendly team player.
- Logical thinker with technical aptitude.
