Job Description

Now is your opportunity to be part of the Pillow Talk Fabric, by joining us in this highly exciting Finance Assistant role based at our enviable Darra Head Office. As a Finance Assistant at Pillow Talk, you will assist with the administration, maintenance and reconciliation of accurate financial data to support the business with tracking and forecasting its expenditure, as well as measuring overall performance. You will be central to the processing of high-volume transactional information occurring on a frequent basis and be responsible for the continual reconciliation of key accounts and maintaining accuracy of data.

A bit about the role...

  • Actioning the processing of high-volume invoices and payments to ensure they are accurate and made within necessary timeframes
  • Preparing revaluations of inventory by obtaining the necessary invoices and support to prepare a complete valuation and ensure accuracy of outputs
  • Overseeing the continual reconciliation of Company bank accounts and various payment portals
  • Assisting team members from across the business with transactional and ad hoc queries
  • Reconciling General Ledger balances to rectify inconsistencies in financial data and ensure accurate supporting records
  • Assisting the team in completing end of month procedures
  • Resolving problems with purchase orders/invoices; contacting external service providers as well as liaising with internal stakeholders to address issues with billing and charges
  • Preparing and present regular reports of financial activities to other members of the team
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with providing financial support for audits and external queries
  • Assisting in the maintenance of financial data to support accurate cash flow forecasting
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as required to serve the needs of the business

A bit about you...

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A tertiary qualification with a focus on Business or Accounting would be advantageous
  • Experience using accounting ERP and CRM tools and software, experience with MYOB Exo and RMS would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strengths in pivot tables, graphs, automation enabling formulas and distilling large data sets, along with the appetite to grow and advance these skills
  • A strong communicator with superb written and oral communication skills
  • Highly developed organisational skills and time management
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to energise others and contribute to a positive work culture
  • The ability to recognise and create opportunities and to act with a sense of urgency rather than waiting passively for it to happen
  • Able to gain insight into situations, problems and processes and deconstruct problems; systematically investigating the various component
