Experienced QHSE in Manufacturing.
My client is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to take accountability for all Quality, Health, Safety and Environment manager tasks, while continuing to develop a safety-focused culture in the workshop. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Bayswater, WA.Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits
- Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Develop and Manage Internal Audit Program
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing Quality Operations team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
- Communicate and consult with all employees during toolbox meetings, EHS presentations, prestart.
- Be responsible for health, safety, environment and compliance related tasks, systems, procedures and strategy.
- Coordinate HSEQ documentation to relevant personnel including safety plans, SOPS, risk registers, training registers etc.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses to understand the cause. Recommend realistic solutions and drive the execution of necessary changes.
- Champion a ‘safety-first’ culture and mindset but promoting best practice and conducting regular training and improvement sessions.
- Organise Quarterly Safety Committee meetings and follow up on agenda actions.
- Conduct site inductions for contractors, visitors, and new staff.
- Assist and support the development, coordination, and delivery of training programs for the business unit.
- All administrative and reporting tasks related to the position.
This position is ideal for a proactive Safety professional with experience in heavy manufacturing environments and a focus on process improvement. To be considered for this opportunity, the right person will have:
- Minimum 3 years in a QHSE related position, ideally in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders and all levels of the business.
- A strong passion for delivering safety and quality.
- Proactive and motivated attitude with a willingness to develop and learn new skills.
- Computer literacy skills and competent with MS Office. Previous experience with PRONTO would be highly advantageous.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Comprehensive knowledge EHS Standards: Federal, State and Local Legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards
- Direct experience with conveyors and components, pulleys and idlers would be a distinct advantage.
