The Role

Join us as we embark on an exciting journey here at JB Hi-Fi to uplift our Supply Chain environment through the use of innovative technology which will drive greater collaboration and unlock efficiencies across our Supply Chain, particularly in our last mile execution. As part of our Supply Chain transformation, we have a number of exciting opportunities to join our team as we take the next step in our journey.

Based either in our Home Delivery Centre in Truganina OR in our Group Support Office in Southbank, The State Transport Planning Lead is an exciting newly created role within our Supply Chain function, whose purpose is to provide leadership to their designated group of Transport Planners. The Transport Planner Lead plays a crucial role in supporting the National Transport Planning & Operations Manager to achieve regional performance goals for productivity, cost, and quality of delivery services.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations of the team, through providing clear role accountability, coaching and direction
  • Maintaining and managing team performance and conduct, whilst also ensuring that appropriate feedback, recognition, training, and development opportunities are provided.
  • Planning and monitoring the daily team schedules, adjusting as needed to ensure adequate resourcing that supports operational demands and business objectives
  • Ensuring successful regional and metro goals are successfully met, such as reducing costs, meeting service KPIs such as First Attempt Delivery Rates (FADR), DOT and NPS and complying with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Enforcing company safety standards and ensure compliance with policies and procedures to reduce accidents and support a safe working environment

About You

You will have strong financial and business acumen and be comfortable embracing change, resilient in overcoming challenges and flexible in adjusting priorities, while maintaining a proactive approach to continuous improvement. You will also have:

  • 5 years of experience managing operations – specifically within home delivery, logistics, transportation, warehousing, or related field
  • Strong experience in transport planning and scheduling
  • Strong experience in leading and building large (and sometimes geographically dispersed) teams
  • Strong computer literacy and exposure to general software packages (such as Microsoft Office Suite) and warehouse software (such as Oracle, SAP, AS400), including transport management systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or logistics (preferred)
  • Experience in retail and/or e-commerce environments and bulky goods (Preferred)
  • Experience in managing through significant change programs (preferred)
