NEPEAN Conveyors was established in 1985. We are now one of Australia’s most successful suppliers of large scale, fully integrated, mining conveyor projects. We offer complete, engineered turn-key conveying and materials handling solutions for surface, underground and hard rock mining, port facilities and process plants. Our customers produce various raw materials from lithium, iron ore and coal through to fertiliser and biosolids.
Our Opportunity
To support our ongoing growth, NEPEAN Conveyors NSW are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity, based in our design and manufacturing facility in Unanderra, NSW.
In this facility we work within a team of project managers, engineers, designers, and fabricators on projects large and small. Much of the fabrication is completed on site so we can see our ideas come to life in the workshop.
Daily duties typically include.
- Design bulk material handling equipment such as support structures, platforms, winches, and chutes in collaboration with the design/drafting team.
- Engineering calculations to design conveyor systems and ensure compliance with the appropriate codes & Australian standards.
- Create concept designs, layouts, and scopes of work for completion by our design/drafting team.
- Opportunity to take ownership of the engineering phase of projects to ensure drawings and documentation deliverables are completed on time, on budget, to the scope and at the right quality.
- Assist the workshop / site with technical queries.
The Right Person
The ideal candidate for this position would have:
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma of engineering in a mechanical discipline
- A genuine passion for mechanical engineering and problem solving.
- High attentional to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Full working rights in Australia
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Proficiency in CAD software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor would be well regarded.
- Some experience in a design engineering or project engineering role would be well regarded. We are considering candidates for the full range from junior to senior.
- Bulk material handling experience preferred.
