Position : Family & Relationship Counsellor

Location : Darwin, NT

Salary & Benefits : $94,181.28 per annum + 11% Super + Salary Packaging and 5 weeks annual leave. Eligible for relocation assistance through NTPHN grants

Key Responsibilities :

• Deliver Culturally Sensitive Counselling Services :
• Provide professional counselling sessions to individuals, families, couples, and children, adhering to evidence-based and approved modalities.
• Conduct thorough safety and risk assessments in line with Resolve Risk Assessment and Management Procedures.
• Escalate identified risks and collaborate on the development of safety plans.
• Facilitate Evidence-Based Group Work Programs :
• Organise, facilitate, and evaluate approved group work programs and short courses.
• Undertake training to develop necessary skills for effective group facilitation.
• Contribute to Service Improvements and Organisational Development :
• Work collaboratively with the team to address client complaints and service improvement requirements.
• Participate in team and organisational communications, including staff meetings, practice review meetings, and planning days.
• Represent our client at external activities and contribute to community engagement efforts.

Selection Criteria :

• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling with eligibility for membership / credentialing.
• Proven counselling experience with a child and family-focused approach.
• Registration with professional associations such as the Australian Counselling Association or APHRA.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation such as family law, child protection, and domestic violence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce quality reports and correspondence.
• Proficiency in computer skills including client data management systems.

General Requirements :

• Respectful approach to diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse individuals.
• Adherence to legislation, policies, and WHS practices.
• Possession of a Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) and National Police Criminal History Report.
• Current pandemic and job-specific vaccinations and boosters.
• Valid Northern Territory Driver’s License
