North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.



The role

An exciting opportunity is now available for a strong administrator in the position of Executive Assistant. Reporting to the Executive Officer, you will provide high quality administrative support to the office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Mayor.


You will deliver a range of executive level support services, including but not limited to:



  • Manage the diaries and all incoming correspondence to the Chief Executive Officer and Mayor’s inbox, ensuring all documentation is registered in Council’s records management system.
  • Coordination of meetings, Assist with Civic events, citizenship ceremonies and other Mayoral events as required.
  • Problem solve and resolve complaints through research and consultation and ensure all complaints are recorded and acted upon.
  • Draft correspondence on behalf of the Mayor and CEO, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
  • Ensure the Mayor is prepared for media interviews, public appearances and presentations with running orders and prepared speeches.


How you'll make a difference

This role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of the office of the CEO and will operate with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion when executing duties and liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will play a key part in promoting an engaged culture and identifying opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement across Council.

Salary Range: $77,166 to $92,140 per annum + $1,000 pa Transport allowance + 11% superannuation


Option for Part Time will be considered.
