WOW Recruitment are looking for a highly organised, determined and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to work with our Online Grocery Retailer client, on a four week temp basis.

Our client is seeking someone with reconciliation experience, who can come into this role and hit the ground running as you will be filling in whilst current Purchasing Officers are on annual leave.

You will be responsible for ensuring all materials are provided to Australian FC’s in the right quantity, in the right location, and at the right time. You will also support the Category Managers and Purchasing Officers with process improvements, training requirements, and support any additional operational ad hoc requests.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and maintain relationships with suppliers, production, and operations teams daily.
  • Confirm and process purchase orders accurately and promptly, resolving supplier issues and shortages efficiently.
  • Gather, manipulate, and transform data from a variety of sources to generate reports to improve the efficiency and accuracy of several workflows for the purchasing team.
  • Inventory & Stock Management, including the analysis of detailed records of inventory and usage to ensure business processes are executed as expected and achieving desired outcomes.
  • Coordinate with planners and manage purchase order adjustments handling any neseccary substitutions ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Cost Control & Reduction measures to optimise inventories and drive cost savings without negatively impacting operational metrics.
  • Conduct system analysis, create SOPs, and ensure documentation compliance.
  • Troubleshoot supply issues, tracking, and maintaining various reports related to supplier performance.
  • Review and action invoice approvals, as well as resolving any payment discrepancies.

Experience & Skills Required:
  • Experience with inbound transportation, logistics, and inventory
  • Competent and experienced with the use of MS Office, G-Suite & ERP
  • 3+ years in supply chain management, purchasing, or procurement role in FMCG or food environment
  • Strong work ethic and excellent problem-solving capability
  • Collaborator who works well across teams and functions
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced workload with enthusiasm and a can-do attitude
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to operate with a sense of urgency
  • Tech savvy
