Our client, a large, Federal Government Organisation responsible for health research, funding, promotion and regulation, are Seeking the experience of multiple Oracle Developer(s) for long 12 + 12 + 12 month contract, based in Canberra (Woden).
Duties of the Oracle Developer
- Develop and maintain Oracle databases according to the business requirements and specifications.
- Design and implement database schemas, tables, views, indexes, triggers, procedures, functions, packages, and other database objects using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
- Optimise database performance, security, availability, and scalability using Oracle tools and best practices.
- Create and execute unit test cases, debug, and troubleshoot issues, and document and maintain code quality and standards.
- Research and evaluate new Oracle database and features and recommend solutions to improve existing systems and processes.
- Develop and maintain production support documentation.
Skills and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in Oracle development, preferably in a large-scale and complex environment.
- Proficient in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including advanced features such as analytical functions, collections, dynamic SQL, and exception handling.
- Experience in developing and deploying Oracle databases using Oracle tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of Oracle database administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, security, and data modelling techniques.
- At least 3 years' experience with software development methodologies, such as agile, waterfall, or scrum, and tools, such as version control, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Certification in Oracle technologies, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Master (OCM), or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), is a plus (desired).
- Experience with Azure DevOps as a tool for managing development workflows (such as tasks/PBI's) (desired).
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) for oracle developers (desired).
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (desired).
