Your new role
As a Server Engineer, you will play a crucial role in a small yet focused team, providing corporate IT system administration to the institution. Your responsibilities will include system support, configuration, and ensuring availability across various technologies within the IT Operations team.
What you'll need to succeed
- Managing public cloud infrastructure, particularly Azure
- A wide range of ICT activities including networking, database administration, virtualisation, Windows and Linux administration, and operational support
- Software patching, backup and recovery, monitoring and alerting, troubleshooting in a corporate IT environment
- Exposure to system hardening and security baseline standards
- Knowledge and experience with Azure cloud services and VDI
- Understanding of DevOps principles including CI/CD build, test pipelines, and familiarity with IaaC tools
- Ability to adopt multiple viewpoints – application, database, security, infrastructure, and monitoring
- Excellent communication skills to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Availability for 2nd and 3rd level support during and outside standard business hours as required
