The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to be responsible for the delivery and implementation of Council’s procurement, tendering, and contract service ensuring Council procures high-quality goods and services in a cost-effective and efficient manner while maintaining strong, productive relationships with suppliers.

As Procurement Officer you will maintain supplier relationships, acting as a primary point of contact and ensuring clear and effective communication. You will assist in the identification and implementation of cost-effective solutions, contributing to the council's goal of achieving best value for money as well as understand and adhere to the council's procurement processes, governance, and compliance requirements, and assist other staff members in doing the same.

About You

We are seeking an individual who holds a Diploma-level qualification (or higher) in procurement, tendering, contracts, or similar related qualification, or willing to obtain and has a Current NSW Drives Licence.

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Minimum of three (3) years' work experience in procurement, tendering, and contract management, including interpretation of associated legislation and guidelines.
  • Solid understanding of local government operations and the implications of these activities on public sector governance and legislative compliance relevant to procurement and contracts.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office, and data and record management software systems.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders and government agencies.

Benefits

This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $81,500.64 gross per annum, comprising of:

  • $1412.00 per week base salary
  • $155.32 per week superannuation (calculated at 11%)
