Position Details
St John’s School seeks an enthusiastic Education Assistant committed to student learning who is prepared to be part of a collaborative, highly motivated and professional staff working together to provide a broad educational program that is responsive to current understandings of teaching and learning.
St John’s School in Rangeway, Geraldton, is a single stream, co-educational primary school educating students from Kindergarten to Year Six.
We pride ourselves in authentically living out our moral purpose, Every Story Every Opportunity’, that is knowing the story of our students and providing every opportunity for our students to flourish in a safe and supportive environment.
A strong sense of community is evident, with the School, Parish and families all working in collaboration in the best interests of the students.
Early intervention, diverse specialist learning areas, an Enrichment Program and Drumbeat are some of the initiatives embedded at St John’s School.
This is a temporary part-time position (0.8 FTE) commencing 13 May 2024 and concluding 31 December 2024.
This temporary position has a high potential of becoming ongoing beyond 2024.
Selection Criteria & Qualifications Required
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in the following areas :
- Be supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively, and collaboratively and a willingness to participate in reflective practice.
- Have or be willing to obtain the necessary CEWA accreditation requirements.
- Have a current TRBWA Registration and a current Working with Children Card.
