Wanted: Policy Officer and Senior Policy Officer

About the role

The Legal, Legislation and Policy team provides legal and policy support to Landgate’s business units as well as facilitating and supporting the delivery of Landgate’s legislative reform initiatives. As a Policy Officer you will develop and assist in the development of policy and legislative responses to internal and external issues impacting Landgate and its stakeholders. As a Senior Policy Officer you will develop and lead in the development of these responses through the formulation of policies, policy positions, and legislation.

As part of your role, you will undertake research, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and review, evaluate, and provide advice on policy, legislation, and emerging issues relevant to Landgate. You will need to bring with you a combination of policy and government writing skills to clearly and concisely deliver information.

We currently have one permanent Policy Officer role available at Level 5 and one 12 month fixed term opportunity available for the Senior Policy Officer at level 6.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, please demonstrate :

  • A good understanding of the policies and practises that facilitate the creation and amendment of legislation and regulation.
  • Proven experience in policy formulation.
  • Exceptional written communication skills including the ability to present complex information in an understandable way to a wide range of audiences.
  • Proven interpersonal skills including an ability to build professional relationships and use diplomacy, advocacy, and negotiation skills to engage with stakeholders.
  • Ability to research, analyse, and evaluate information to develop practical solutions and make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Three or more years' experience in a public policy or legislative reform environment (Level 6 only).
