The Department of the Senate is seeking applications from those interested in joining the department in the role of Graphic Designer.The Graphic Designer is responsible for coordinating and managing the development, design and production of print and digital resources for the Senate department and the Parliamentary Education Office. They provide support through the provision of high-quality design services while overseeing the continuing development and maintenance of corporate brands.
The Graphic Designer provides leadership on design and technical issues and participates in projects with a strong focus on user experience. The occupant of this position may also be involved in producing a number of information resources specific to sittings of the Senate, including the Dynamic Red, Senate Daily Summary, StatsNet and others.
The key duties of the position include
- Manage the provision of high-quality design services.
- Coordinate, plan and guide projects, including workloads, work practices, standards and priorities.
- Develop and implement policies and strategies to promote the Parliament of Australia's website to target audiences.
- Ensure the correct usage of corporate branding and develop guidelines and standards as required.
- Liaise, consult, negotiate and provide support and advice on matters relating to graphic design, including the department's printing and online publishing activities.
- Initiate and lead change management in relation to publishing, as necessary.
- Participate in projects as required.
- Contribute to the production and publication of information resources relating to the sitting of the Senate.
