Our client is currently undergoing strategic growth, poised to commence several construction projects - requires experienced Accounts Payable Officer.

The Client
A local builder/developer, currently undergoing strategic growth and poised to initiate several construction projects, is in need of an experienced Accounts Payable Officer/Office Administrator to enhance their team. This team is committed to delivering high-quality construction projects that meet the expectations of their clients and investors.

Stationed at their Gold Coast office, you will assume responsibility for managing accounts payable as part of the accounting process, in addition to performing day-to-day office administration duties as needed.

The role

  • Reporting to the company Director, you will offer administrative support as needed by directors and office/project personnel.
  • General responsibilities include responding to phone calls, addressing client inquiries, updating the project sites, and directing questions to the relevant staff members.
  • Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks utilizing Xero.
  • Ensuring follow-up on contractors' SWMS and Insurances.
  • Updating various spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and MS Word.
  • Performing data entry tasks.
  • Undertaking other administrative responsibilities as necessary.
  • Preparing cash flow statements.
  • Overseeing the ordering and procurement of materials.
  • Providing general support to directors and Project Managers.
  • Maintaining Excel sheets for payments across multiple projects.
  • Collaborating with the bookkeeper for payroll coordination.
  • Managing insurance policies and offering group support across various construction sites, acting as a liaison for leasing, and maintaining contact with the accountant.
  • Organizing multiple development SPVs.
  • Coordinating tax compliance with the accountant.
The Person
  • The candidate must exhibit a high level of precision and meticulousness.
  • It is essential to have prior experience working with a construction firm.
  • The role requires previous administrative experience within the construction sector, coupled with advanced proficiency in Xero.
  • The applicant should be adept in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Effective communication with all levels of stakeholders is imperative.
  • The individual should be exceptionally organized and possess superior verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Confidence in establishing rapport with clients, suppliers, and trades is crucial (local experience a must).
  • We are looking for a collaborative team member who will complement our small yet professional team.
