The Opportunity :
Due to an increased headcount and fleet size the MinRes Asset Management Division has an immediate requirement for a Roving Safety Advisor to join their site based MEM teams.
As the Roving Safety Advisor you will be working an 8 : 6 Roster through MinRes' owned an operated sites in the Yilgarn & Pilbara Regions.
The Roving safety Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting and coaching the likes of MEM Supervisors and Superintendents as well as integral role in the contribution of promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work ethic and safety culture among our heavy mobile equipment employees.
You will have the ability work autonomously planning our own site schedule to cater for the crew needs.
This role would be perfect for a Heavy Duty Fitter looking to move away from the tools and break into HSE or Supervisor who would like to take a step backwards from supervising without having to go back on the tools and stay within Mining!
Your primary responsibilities may include :
- Support various sites in a roving capacity
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with AMG management, site safety teams, corporate support to assist with achieving goals and objectives
- Coach and mentor the leaders on role obligations
- Support the development and review of maintenance related safety procedures and work instructions.
- Monitor and analyse records of safety performance, incidents in the business via INX and Power BI databases and highlight areas of concern or areas of improvement.
- Assist to produce statistical reports for Managers and the leadership team.
- Provide assistance and support for incident investigations
What is required?
Our ideal candidate will have experience working within the Mining Sector in mechanical trade capacity or supervisor capacity!
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications :
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
- Mechanical Trade Qualification
- Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, mentoring and developing diverse teams
- Strong understanding of Safety Management and a positive approach to implementation and execution of pragmatic management systems
- Ability to identify and instigate business improvement initiatives
- Demonstrate initiative and creative problem-solving skills
