We're seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Veterinary Nurse. In this position, you'll have the opportunity to develop you're nursing skills with continuous improvement training. You will be joining a team of two full time nurses, working with them towards excellence in patient care within their unique and nurturing environment.
As a Consult and Hospital Nurse, you'll play a crucial role in assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring the highest standards of treatment and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with veterinarians to facilitate routine examinations and surgical procedures.
- Coordinate surgery schedules and oversee preparation procedures.
- Provide compassionate nursing care to patients throughout their stay.
- Monitor patient anesthesia and assist with post-operative care.
- Attend to the needs of hospitalised animals and communicate effectively with owners.
- Maintain instrument sterilization protocols and prepare medications as required.
- Ensure compliance with animal health regulations and welfare standards.
- Uphold clinic hygiene standards and adhere to safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Willingness to work either full or part-time hours.
- Passion for mentoring and training fellow veterinary nurses.
- Proficiency in animal handling techniques.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
