THE ROLE
As the Assistant Accountant for Darwin Commercial, your primary focus will be to provide skilled support to our Darwin Commercial team.
Responsible for liaising with senior management team members across both Darwin Commercial and the National Support Office.
R ESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will be required to :
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
- Work closely with the National Support Office finance team to support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
You will have an engaging character, an analytical mind, and the ability to see the bigger picture, all whilst having strong attention to detail.
With outstanding communication, you will be able to confidently demonstrate your reporting and accounting abilities. You’ll have a knack for continuous business improvement and a genuine passion for promoting positive change.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes :
- Proven experience as a Book keeper or in a similar role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting / Commerce
- Previous industry experience will be highly regarded
- Previous experience with accounting software Jim2 will be highly regarded
- Superior Microsoft Excel skills
- Be a self-starter, motivated, and use initiative
- Adaptable and flexible in a dynamic environment
- Well-developed communication skills and a friendly demeanour
