Come and join the exciting Hedland Health Campus’ maternity services in the East Pilbara. Hedland Health Campus has over 365 births per year. It provides a full range of Antenatal clinics and Postnatal services enabling you to work to your full Midwifery Scope. We are the regional centre for the Pilbara in Maternity, Neonatal and Obstetric services with a Level 2 Special Care Nursery . This position plays a key role in ensuring the ongoing development and stability of midwifery services in the East Pilbara region and communities. We look forward to you joining our team!

This is a Recruitment Pool for suitably qualified Registered Midwives covering all employment types including: Permanent - Full Time, Permanent - Part Time, Fixed Term - Full Time, Fixed Term - Part Time and Casual appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Appointments may be made from the Pool up until 21/06/2024.

Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program

What we are looking for:

  • seeking flexible team players capable of working in all areas across the Midwifery continuum of care: antenatal, intrapartum and the postnatal period.
  • Working in collaboration with Clinical Midwives to provide direct patient care and practice in accordance with WACHS Values
  • work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing midwifery care that is, woman focused and sensitive to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) families.

Hedland Health Campus officially opened its doors on 17th November 2010 as the Regional Health Care Hub for the Pilbara after significant building works were completed to update the original Port Hedland Hospital. It also provides valuable support to smaller regional sites including Newman Health Campus, Marble Bar Health Clinic and Nullagine Nursing Post. Built on Colebatch Way next to Karlarra House residential aged – care facility, it provides Pilbara residents with access to specialists in one location. Some of the Health Campus’ services include but are limited to: 24/7 emergency dept, Aged care services, Allied health services, Day surgery and Outpatient units, Mental health, drug and alcohol services, High dependency unit, Inpatient unit, Medical imaging, Maternity and obstetric service, Paediatric unit, Pharmacy, Population health services, Renal dialysis, Telehealth and Visiting specialists across various specialities.
