The role


As a Proactive Inspector, you will be conducting inspections at business premises to ensure compliance with legislation administered by the Commissioner for Consumer Protection.


There are plenty of activities you will be involved in, for example assessing licence and permit applications, investigating complaints regarding non-compliance, issuing infringement notices, identifying compliance issues, conducting follow-up inspections, and proving advice on licencing procedures, rights and obligations.


You will be joining a large and knowledgeable team and supported by a Principal Inspector.


Ultimately, we are seeking someone with a working knowledge of investigative processes and can identify potential breaches of legislation.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months.


This position is located in Perth, at 140 William Street.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the investigative process and the ability to identify sources of information and evidence for use in investigations.

  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
