THE OPPORTUNITY

Hifab Services are looking for a welder/fabricator to join our team.

  • Permanent role
  • Site & Workshop
  • Sydney Metro based (Location: project dependent)

THE JOB

  • Monday to Saturday
  • Hifab Services Workshop is based in South Windsor
  • Site work: Work environment various from residential, commercial infrastructure & manufacturing.
  • Welding Operations: Perform MIG and Stick welding operations according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Fabrication: Fabricate metal components and structures using welding equipment and hand tools.
  • Material Preparation: Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure functionality and longevity.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members and departments to complete projects efficiently.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on tasks.
  • Problem-solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding processes and equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the implementation of solutions.

THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Essential Requirements For This Opportunity Are

  • Trade qualification: Cert III or IV Engineering Fabrication Plus 2
  • Experience: plus 2 years relevant experience or 3 years relevant experience in substitute to the qualification
  • Welding Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in MIG and Stick welding techniques.
  • Fabrication Skills: Experience in fabricating metal components and structures.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to workplace safety practices and protocols.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and quality of finished welds.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • Problem-solving Skills: Capacity to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding processes and equipment.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and production schedules.
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication skills to collaborate with team members and report any issues or concerns.
  • Physical Fitness: Good physical condition and stamina to perform welding and fabrication tasks for extended periods.
