Description:

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) is seeking to establish a pool of suitable applicants for occasional short term contract or casual opportunities available across a range of positions which need to be filled at short notice.

Depending on our business needs, we may need full time, part time or casual staff for periods up to twelve (12) months.

Positions may be available in a range of areas including Administration, Finance, Media, Communications, Project Management, Human Resources, Information Technology, Customer Service, Science, Conservation and Environmental Management. The register is actively monitored for various opportunities in these areas.

DBCA is committed to promoting biodiversity and conservation to enrich people’s lives, through sustainable management of Western Australia’s species, ecosystems, lands and the attractions in the department’s care.

We work to conserve WA’s biodiversity, cultural and natural values. We also provide world-recognised nature-based tourism and recreation experiences for the community. We:

  • manage WA’s parks, forests and reserves to achieve wildlife conservation
  • provide sustainable recreation and tourism opportunities
  • protect communities and assets from bushfire
  • work to grow visitor numbers at Rottnest Island by providing best-in-class tourism experiences
  • enhance Rottnest’s unique heritage and environment
  • inspire and act for wildlife conservation at Perth Zoo
  • work with the community to conserve and showcase our biological diversity at Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Bold Park
  • provide support to the Conservation and Parks Commission and Swan River Trust

After lodging your CV, you may be contacted to attend an interview if a suitable vacancy becomes available. Your CV will stay on our temporary register for three months, after which time, you will need to reapply.
