We also deploy medical professionals and aircraft in support of defence, government and commercial contracts, and energy and resource sector sites.

The role

We currently have an opportunity for a full-time Aeromedical Logistic Coordinator. This position is an integral role in the business working 12 hour shifts and will apply to both day and night roster coverage.

Coordinating fixed and rotary-wing missions as well as PTV transfers, your key responsibilities will include :

  • determining and activating the most appropriate asset for the mission;
  • coordinating multi-stop flights / routing in consultation with the duty crew;
  • relaying critical information to duty crews and the Medical Retrieval Consultant (MRC);
  • prioritising competing cases in consultation with the CareFlight MRC;
  • considering crew composition;
  • organising ground transport and companion / relative travel;
  • monitoring timings and mission progress;
  • maintaining communication with all stakeholders regarding incoming flights / patients / clinical status;
  • ensuring case information is entered into the system progressively and accurately;
  • producing internal and external status reports, and
  • handing over to the next shift in a thorough and careful manner.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess :

  • the ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a high-pressure work environment;
  • highly effective interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills within a multi-disciplinary team;
  • the ability to maintain confidential information; and
  • proven IT skills in a range of applications and data entry (including typing skills).

The following will be highly regarded :

  • trained or qualified in emergency communications techniques;
  • experience working within a command structure;
  • experience gained from a flight dispatch and / or patient dispatch role;
  • previous experience in an aviation or clinical / emergency services environment; and
  • experience in Air Maestro or other Aviation based systems.
