Our Hotel

Located in a traditional heritage architecture building, once home to the Fairfax newspaper empire and the prestigious Bank of New South Wales, we offer an elegant stay in the heart of the CBD. The Role

Joining our diverse and experienced Kitchen team, in this full time Chef de Partie position based in Sydney you will be responsible for contributing to our customer satisfaction by preparing and serving high quality food products in accordance with our 5-star standards.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate all hot and cold food preparation including banquets when necessary
  • Prepare sauces, soups, and hot entrees and mains for service and special functions
  • Demonstrate recipe knowledge for all soups, sauces, entrees and mains making suggestions to improve quality
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff and servers are aware of specials, plate presentations, and prices
  • Assists personnel in checking all coolers and storage areas for cleanliness, quantity, and quality of food products and to assure proper plate presentation and requisitioning procedures are followed
  • Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field (Cert IV in Commercial Cookery as a minimum)
  • At least 1-2 years' experience as a Chef de Partie in a busy kitchen
  • Excellent cooking and food preparation skills
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and foods
  • Good understanding of hygiene and food safety principles

Australian Working Rights

You will be required to have full, ongoing valid Australian working rights for this opportunity.

Salary on offer

We are offering a competitive salary of $70,568.00 + superannuation (including added company perks).
