Mount Isa Hospital is the main referral centre for the NWHHS with specialties including general medical, general surgical, operating theatres, midwifery and obstetrics, special care nursery, paediatrics, intensive care, emergency, and outpatient services, including day oncology services.

The Medical Ward is a 16 bed unit that cares for a diverse range of clientele, including those with cardiac, respiratory, endocrine, neurological and renal aliments. The ward specialises for those who require palliative care services.

Fixed term temporary full time, 15.04.2024 up to 13.04.2025 and ASAP up to 09.06.2024 - Two positions available.

Base salary rates between $4138.10 and $4431.10 p.f. (f/t) (Nurse Grade 6 - Band 1).

  • Proof of qualification, registration with AHPRA and a current practising certificate are mandatory requirements.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • A 6-month period of probation may apply.
