About the opportunity

This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Storekeeper. Reporting directly to the Supervisor Stores, this position is responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to the receipt, marking, storage and issue of goods including employee’s entitlements for clothes, PPE and tools, and supervising 3-4 staff members.

An ideal candidate will use computer data to assist in the efficient running of the store, maintain stationery supplies, direct charge register and electronic goods receipt. You will maintain stock levels and return to store and lost reports, the checking of goods on receipt, participate in the annual stock take and act in accordance with the NSW Work Health Safety Act 2011 , Work Health Safety Regulation 2017 and the Work Health and Safety (WHS) System at all times.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • The preferred qualifications for this position are a TAFE Certificate of Trade or equivalent
  • A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience
  • Current Class “C” driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • Holder of a current forklift ticket
  • Computer literate in basic Office applications and the ability to quickly learn corporate applications
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work within a team environment.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,452.48 per week
  • 38-hour working week
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
