The Role

Reporting to the Area Lead of Drinking Water Treatment, and based at Preston Reservoir, the successful applicant will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of safe and clean drinking water by monitoring trends, spearheading improvement projects, and managing incident responses.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Monitoring a range of systems (such as EnviroSys, SCADA, Maximo, Power BI, and Inflo) to uphold rigorous safety standards and ensure top-tier water quality.
  • Collaborating with diverse stakeholders and operators to optimize the efficiency of the supply chain.
  • Traveling to different Melbourne Water sites to oversee equipment and track the advancement of various projects.

Salary MW EA Level 6 starting at $97,168 plus superannuation.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Possess an engineering qualification, preferably in Process or Chemical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated understanding of water treatment, with a practical grasp of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
  • Proven ability in effectively managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Previous experience navigating diverse systems.
  • A collaborative individual who thrives as part of a team.
  • Willing to complete Police, Medical, Qualification checks
  • Willing to complete an Auscheck (this role is deemed critical according to the SoCI Act – please see further information below)

Important Information

The Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act 2018 requires Melbourne Water, as an operator of critical infrastructure, to prepare a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), which has been undertaken and managed by the Security and Emergency Management Team.

Melbourne Water are required to assess roles across Melbourne Water to determine what roles are critical under the Act. All employees working in a role deemed SOCI critical will require additional background checks via AusCheck. The role of Water Supply Process Engineer is deemed critical and the preferred applicant will be asked to undertake an AusCheck.
