The University of Notre Dame Australia has over 12,000 students enrolled across its three campuses in Fremantle, Sydney and Broome. Since its inception in 1989, it has built a reputation as one of the country’s top-ranked universities for providing an exceptional educational and student experience. In recent years, the University has commenced an ambitious program focused on growth, research intensification, internationalisation and strengthening its national structure.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor Engagement and Communications reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor and plays a pivotal role as a member of the senior executive team leading a national university. It oversees a broad portfolio which includes government relations, communications, media, events and alumni, and philanthropy. A major focus will be to develop and deepen relationships with government and in other complex organisational and political settings through the creation of innovative engagement strategies. Exceptional relationship building and networking skills are therefore essential.
This is an influential role that calls for an experienced and confident executive with a track record of leading high performing teams. The successful candidate will require senior leadership experience across the key functions of the portfolio, and the ability to work across the entire institution on a range of initiatives that impact Notre Dame’s direction and success. A strategic capacity, decisive approach and sound judgement should be supported by high level advocacy and verbal communication skills.
