Description:

St Patrick’s College, Shorncliffe, is a Catholic day school in the Edmund Rice tradition, established in 1952 by the Christian Brothers, currently with an enrolment of 1400 boys on an integrated Year 5 – 12 campus. The College is seeking interested candidates who will be willing to work as required to fill administration positions on a call-in casual basis. The candidates will be required to complete general office duties that include:

  • general reception duties for the College Administration Office: receiving visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing appropriately ensuring they follow all College sign in procedures.
  • provision of generalist administrative support for various Front Office functions as directed by the Office Manager.
  • providing assistance with photocopying requests via an online program within the required timeframe.
  • laminating, scanning, digitising and guillotining documents as required.
  • attending to the needs of staff, students and parents when required.
  • assisting in the Student Office and other areas of the College as required.
  • responding to any other task, within the officer’s capabilities, as required by the Principal or their delegate

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • A commitment to, and an understanding of, Catholic education and the Charism of Edmund Rice as articulated in the EREA Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition.
  • Commitment to a high level of professionalism and competence in behaviour and work.
  • Have knowledge and awareness of applicable Workplace Health and Safety and Risk Management requirements and Equal Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination requirements
  • Demonstrated organisational and strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills with the capacity to work with staff, stakeholders, the public and parents in a team-orientated community.
  • A high regard for detail and accuracy
  • Highly proficient IT skills and proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in Office Administration and Reception. Working within a school environment is the desirable but not essential.

The successful applicant must hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.

Working with Children

Applicants must possess (or be eligible to obtain) and maintain a current Working with Children Check - Blue Card Queensland or be registered with and maintain registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
