About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda and Central Highlands districts and adult patients of the Central West Hospital and Health Service (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000).

Rockhampton is the principal service centre for this area and as such provides the medical coverage, professional supervision, and administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, support for accreditation and implementation of programs as well as acute inpatient facilities for the Central Queensland Mental Health teams. Rockhampton Mental Health Service Inpatient Unit, Older Persons Inpatient Unit and Acute Care Team are located on the campus of Rockhampton Hospital.

About the role:

The Mental Health Clinician - Older Persons will deliver high quality evidence based clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary team to achieve better health outcomes for consumers with mental illness within the Older Persons Community Mental Health setting.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Mandatory qualification/s: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and / or registration with the appropriate registration authority, including any necessary endorsements, to be provided to the employing service prior to the commencement of duty.
  • Social Work
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice with a basic understanding of recovery focussed Mental Health care.
  • An ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team utilising comprehensive communication skills to establish effective partnerships and provide consultation to the team as well as other government and non-government services providers.
  • An ability to deliver routine older persons mental health clinical services utilising time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to contribute to the professional development of self and others through education, professional networking and application of evidence-based practice.

What we offer:

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $132,730 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $42.40 - $58.67 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
