As part of the Queensland Government's $106.7 million Student Wellbeing Package, we are increasing the number of wellbeing professionals working in state schools and education regions across Queensland. By June 2024, employment of additional wellbeing professionals through this initiative will ensure every Queensland state school student has access to support for their wellbeing at school.
About the Role:
To provide quality school-based mental health care to students, their support networks and the broader school community. As a Wellbeing Workforce Psychologists or Social Worker, you will work within the school environment by supporting the school team, under the supervision and leadership of regional office-based clinical supervisors,.
We are seeking to fill the following roles, with appointment being based on your relevant experience and qualification.
- HP3 Psychologist ($84086 - $116332)
- HP4 Senior Psychologist ($124436 - $133901)
- PO2 - PO3 Social Worker ($73593 - $106663)
- PO4 Senior Social Worker ($113324 - $121876)
Responsibilities common across all three disciplines include:
- Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning, and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom.
- Develop referral and case management processes to support delivery of the service.
- Coordinate referrals to external agencies, and work collaboratively with external networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students.
