We are currently seeking a passionate Caseworker - Intensive Family Preservation to join our well established, supportive team. In this role you will provide intensive case management to families on the NSW Central Coast . The role includes addressing child protection concerns through building client capabilities; increasing safety and promoting change through an empowerment client centred model; increasing family, child and youth safety and wellbeing. We provide trauma informed, strength-based casework interventions to families with children and young people aged 0-18 years.
This is a permanent part-time position (4 days per week) based in our Tuggerah office and covers families who live on the NSW Central Coast. CatholicCare is open to flexible working arrangements that meets the needs of the program. The successful incumbant will participate in an after-hours on-call roster as required and must have their own vehicle to be able to travel to work sites, as required.
Key responsibilities:
- Address child protection worries identified by Department of Community Services (DCJ) in referrals to IFP.
- Case plans that address DCJ worries that ensures the safety and wellbeing for all members of the household.
- Accurate and timely case notes and record keeping.
- Intensive case management for 6-9 months.
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualifications.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ industry experience working with Families.
- Understanding of the NSW Human Services Outcomes Framework.
- Knowledge of evidenced based parenting programs.
- Ability to demonstrate networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to provide strong and respectful advocacy in situations of high pressure and competing agendas.
- Ability to manage a crisis or safety situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Working with Children Check and Criminal History Check.
- NSW Driver's Licence and insured vehicle.
