The Opportunity
The business-critical role of Payroll Manager will support 200+ employees across Queensland, to ensure the efficient, accurate and compliant fortnightly and monthly payrolls. With a reporting line to the HR department, the Payroll Manager will share their knowledge, expertise and recommendations with the business with regard to BAU payroll, compliance, continued improvements and system upgrades.
The Payroll Manager will have one direct report, who assists in the general processing of the pays.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly and fortnightly payroll processing;
- Manage payroll related end of month and end of year activities;
- Ensure payment and reconciliations of statutory payments;
- Support with remuneration reviews, labour budgeting and reporting and payroll related audit activities;
- Focus on continuous improvement and automation within the time and attendance, HRIS and payroll functions and systems; and
- Provide leadership, encouragement and the foster growth of the Payroll Administrator.
Key Experience
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Ownership of a payroll function, including BAU, compliance, leadership and continuous improvement;
- In-depth knowledge of complex payrolls with multiple EAs;
- Demonstrated payroll / HRIS system specific upgrade work;
- Knowledge of payroll related legislation;
- Experience using large payroll systems; and
- Demonstrated leadership of a payroll team.
