Blue Mountains Aboriginal Culture and Resource Centre ICN 2827 Community Support Worker, Aboriginal Elders Programme The Blue Mountains Aboriginal Culture and Resource Centre (BMACRC) is seeking a Community Support Worker for our Aboriginal Elders Programme This position works to support and engage with the Aboriginal Elders of the Blue Mountains to develop, co-ordinate and deliver the Elders community programmes which form an essential part of this organisation If you have an understanding about care for seniors, good business, and communication skills, a passion for engaging with Aboriginal groups across a broad community spectrum, and partnering agencies, then this is the job for you A clear understanding of intergenerational trauma and the effects it has had on Aboriginal people is essential. You will need to have good computer skills in the management of office systems, data base reporting for our funders and work with commitment and pride in our larger team. This position is based at BMACRC's headquarters in Katoomba NSW, working week of 35 hours and reporting to the Manager. This is initially offered as a 2-year term contract, pending a performance review at 3 months after commencement. We will negotiate an annual salary with the successful applicant in the range of $65,000-68,000, based on your experience and demonstrated suitability for the role.
