Description:
The Leveraging Team within the Major Events Branch of the Office for Sport is seeking APS Level 5 Communication Officers to join our team and contribute to achieving excellent communication outcomes for upcoming major sporting events and divisional priorities.The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, including delivery of a new National Sport Strategy and promoting major sporting events that form part of the green and gold decade, culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The role will suit individuals with excellent communication skills, experience writing engaging audience-centred content, the ability to manage competing priorities, and team players who are able to work autonomously.

Under the direction and support of senior staff in the section, the key duties of the position include:
- supporting the Office for Sport (OfS) to deliver strong and measurable communication outcomes, and contributing to evaluations on communication reach and impact
- providing divisional communication support through the coordination of fortnightly input on Ministerial communication opportunities and advice to key priorities, including the Play Our Way Program and National Sports Strategy
- developing communication plans and creating regular audience-centred content for the department's digital channels
- identifying a forward schedule of potential announcements, and preparing supporting content
- undertaking communication planning and delivering timely messaging on major sporting events held in Australia as part of the green and gold decade, including the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Rugby World Cups, Netball World Cup and World Masters Games
