The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) is seeking an Assistant Director, Financial Governance and Systems. The Assistant Director, Financial Governance and Systems assists the Director, Finance to manage and ensure good financial governance, compliance with Finance law and deliver critical Finance related projects. The role also manages the Administered Revenue team and application fee refunds processing activities on behalf of Government.The Assistant Director, Financial Governance and Systems role is a varied role with a lot of strategic and analytical thinking required to keep improving finance practices and supporting the Director, Finance. Working within in a small and supportive team, you'll get the opportunity to work with a range of finance related tasks - compliance, policies, system and process improvements.
The desired applicant will need to be good at trouble shooting and finding solution, have a good communication and ability to influence change. They will also need to be able to see the big picture on how Finance supports and fits in the Tribunals operations.
The annual salary for the position is from $113,357 to $133,423 plus 15.4% superannuation.

The key duties of the position include
- Governance: Lead or contribute to the governance activities for Finance - compliance reporting, Accountable Authority Instructions, Financial Delegations and other Finance policies.
- Project management and support: Lead or contribute to Finance projects including corporate system reviews and/or initiatives designed to identify process improvements and enhance service delivery to AAT users.
- Managing staff: Supervise and provide guidance to staff within the Financial Governance and Systems team as well as encourage strong collaboration with other Finance teams. Manage and lead the Administered Revenue team with the refunds processing task.
- Stakeholder management: Build and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Continuous improvement: Commitment to continuously improving the AAT's financial service offerings. Including identifying and implementing system and process improvements, operational efficiencies, cost saving strategies, and assisting in optimising business and financial outcomes.
