About the Team

The Quality Assessment and Monitoring Group is responsible for the effective delivery of quality assessment and monitoring of approved provider compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, undertaking accreditation and reaccreditation audits of residential aged care services, completion of Quality Reviews of Home Services and flexible aged care services, responding to reported serious incidents and investigating worker regulation obligations. Additional enabling functions include infection control monitoring, responding to complaints regarding our performance, and administration of quality assessor registration requirements.

The key duties of the position include
  • Undertake the duties of the delegate for enforcement related decision making, including making banning orders, the issuing of infringement notices and approving other compellable notices to assist the investigation function of WRIIT.
  • Provide technical advice to the Director WRIIT on the operational impact and implementation of the Commission's administrative, civil, and criminal enforcement responses.
  • Liaise with Commission's legal team on the relevant legislation and powers available to the WRIIT to perform its investigations.
  • Contribute to the development of key policy, and practice documents, to support the functions of the WRIIT, including the enforcement function.
  • Contribute to the ongoing training requirements for WRIIT members to embed operational activities as business as usual for investigation matters.
  • Maintain the banning order register, including ensuring that information is appropriately published in a timely manner.
  • Actively contributing to the Commission's strategic directions and achievements against our corporate priorities.
  • Foster and support staff wellbeing and providing opportunities for coaching and supervision and contributing towards maintaining an enthusiastic and safe workplace culture.
