Description:
Senior Avionics Systems-Electrical Engineering Lead/Manager; Multi-Capacity Aerospace Platforms; World-First Aviation Innovation; Huge Global Demand
This flourishing aviation forerunne r has assembled a collection of some of the finest multi-disciplined R&D engineers in Australia. Having designed, developed and demonstrated their first-of-its-kind prototype to both civil and Defence audiences, the company has attracted tens of millions in funding through private equity and Commonwealth grants, with the directive of realising the platform’s full potential for Australian and global customers. So impressive is the product suite, the company already boasts a backlog of sales orders as unit production kicks into full gear. Their unique craft combine the range, stability and speed of a fixed wing aircraft, with the maneuverability and agility of a rotary wing – all the while, operating at a fraction of the cost of traditional air vehicles. Interest from multinatonal customers, particularly across Western countries, is palpable. With little in the way of comparable competition world-wide, these products are set to disrupt the global marketplace.
Guiding an extremely talented, compact and rapidly expanding electrical engineering team, the Lead Avionics Engineer will operate in tandem with the Chief Engineer and executive management group, to develop the electrical systems design direction for the company’s unique product portfolio in the immediate, and long-term future. You will ideally come from a proven aerospace industry background with demonstrated experience designing and developing aircraft avionics and electrical systems. However, you may also be a seasoned, senior systems engineer with comparible electrical design and engineering expertise across similarly complex maritime or land vehicle platforms – and a demonstrated interest in immersing yourself within the aviation / aerospace domain.
The Lead Avionics Engineer will enjoy a prominent seat at the big table given the vital role you will play in the development of engineering strategy and ultimately, capability realisation. You will be equal parts Forensic & Innovative: applying exacting engineering standards but also unafraid of challenging paradigms, testing well reasoned - but unproven - methodologies that will fail as often as they succeed, making and learning from mistakes. You will be a chief architect of a product roadmap that will likely bear your professional signature for many decades to follow.
The Lead Avionics Engineer will ideally bring to the table:
- Demonstrated, senior professional background in the design and development of sophisticated electrical systems
- Formal or technical leadership / management experience for dedicated engineering teams
- Strong systems engineering practice implementation for the development of new hardware and software sysems
- Experience designing and testing Analog Sensor Interfaces, Power Supplies, Topology Selection, and Microprocessors
- Understanding of aviaton / aerospace standards and CASA compliance regulations
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- A creative, pragmatic approach, willingness to innovate, and cast iron sense of humour
- The ability to gain and maintain an Australian security clearance (Australian citizenship minimum), highly regarded
- Bachelor, Masters or PhD qualifcations in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent discipline)
The Lead Avionics Engineer engagement represents a foot-in-the-door to a singular aerospace engineering pioneer, at a time of exponential growth, within a high visibility position that offers limitless scope and potential. It is a groundfloor opportunity to shape the direction of a an aviation product on the cusp of greatness. A generous package with unique early employee profit share options and the kind of autonomy and responsibility which is unattainable elsewhere, awaits.
Come join the ride.
