Job Description

Customer Service Officers are critical to the delivery of an excellent visitor experience for visitors and guests to Perth Zoo – including but not limited to the front entrance, memberships counter, carousel, retail and reception. In addition, these positions are expected to promote the range of the Zoos commercial products to visitors.

Customer Service Officers will have a team player focus, a positive “can-do" attitude and the skills and abilities to consistently deliver excellent service of a high standard in everything they do.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following essential criteria. These should be addressed in no more than (3) three pages in total.

  1. A demonstrated understanding of the role of a customer service officer.

  2. Demonstrated passion for and experience in providing excellent customer service.

  3. Willingness to learn new systems and work in a range of different service areas of the Zoo – each with a focus on customer service and customer relationship management.

  4. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively under pressure.

  5. Demonstrated ability to accurately handle cash and use a computerised point of sale system and/or ticketing computer system.

  6. An understanding of occupational, health and safety, equity and diversity principles and practices.

Note: Successful applicants will be required to possess or obtain a current (issue date not older than 6 months) and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Eligibility: To be eligible for permanent appointment, it is essential to have Australian citizenship, New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency status or a visa with entitlement to live and work in Australia for the term of the contract.
