CRU, a Bible-based interdenominational Christian youth organization, is seeking a permanent Kitchen Shift Leader to join the growing team.
CRU Galston Gorge caters to up to 220 guests in lodge-style accommodation. Your new office will be in the tranquil setting of nature which plays host to an impressive range of activities from ropes courses, abseiling, challenge courses, and a swimming pool, just to name a few.
As a Kitchen Shift Leader, you will be involved in a variety of activities including:
- Coordinating and supervising general food production and being ‘hands-on’ as required.
- Assisting in ensuring compliance with, and the training of catering staff in, operating procedures, food production, and service.
- Stock rotation and food quantity/quality control.
- Effective management and assistance with the oversight of the site’s response to special diets and allergies.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Trade qualifications in catering, hospitality, or related areas would be highly regarded.
- Hands-on experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.
- Experience in food preparation and cooking for large volumes of people would be advantageous.
- Experience in Christian camping and conferencing, or similar, would be highly regarded.
- Experience in supervising and leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Current first aid certificate (or be willing to obtain one).
