Are you a Nurse or Midwife with a sense of adventure? Would you like a change of scene with a chance to experience working in culturally diverse regional and remote locations? The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking expressions of interest from dynamic, adventurous, AHPRA Registered Nurses and Midwives to join the WACHS Nursing and Midwifery Deployment Pool for casual contracts. Whether you are an Emergency, Theatre, or a Renal Nurse we have places for you. We are seeking Nurses and Midwives from many specialist groups. Our regional deployments will be for periods of 1-6 weeks, with potential for further extension on negotiation. For those seeking regular deployments, once appointed, you will have the opportunity to deploy to our stunning WACHS sites as often as you would like.

Casual positions are available for immediate commencement and with a range of deployments. Flexibility in dates and hours can be negotiated. Deployments will be located at various Health Services in regional Western Australia and are dependent on demand.

  • Registered and Clinical Nurses
  • Registered and Clinical Midwives
  • Nurse Practitioners

Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment on an applicant’s integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.

Please note this recruitment process requires completion of satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment (PEHA). Any offer of employment with WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is conditional on satisfactory PEHA to ensure you are able to perform the inherent requirements of the position. An unsatisfactory PEHA will result in the offer of employment being withdrawn. Please see the attached WACHS PEHA Policy for further information.

This is an “open-ended” recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:

  • The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
  • Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
  • Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2024.
