Role

We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our team for Senior Project Manager and Project Manager positions. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in leading the development and delivery of complex Defence projects. These projects will involve integrated multi-disciplinary teams and will contribute to shaping the future of Australia's sovereign Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) capability. Someone who has worked on projects of the value of $10 to $50 Million, have worked on Defence projects or large scale infrastructure projects in government or Defence will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of Project Management across the Defence capability Lifecycle.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.
  • Mentor and develop your project team, nurturing their growth and success.
  • Manage contract-related matters and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze project data, reporting project performance to the Project Management Office, Executive Team, and Defence.
  • Establish and control project cost models.
  • Oversee project financial performance.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Effectively manage project schedules.
  • Navigate within a complex Defence stakeholder environment, adapting to evolving business, project, and customer needs.
  • Implement both traditional and agile project management methodologies.
YOU
  • Australian citizenship is mandatory for this role.
  • Proven experience in delivering outcomes using traditional and agile project management methodologies.
  • Strong judgment, risk assessment, and issue management skills.
  • Proficiency in scheduling, risk management, resource allocation, cost management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge and experience in applying industry-accepted project management standards.
  • Adaptability and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to lead, develop, and mentor individuals and teams.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying technical and non-technical information with clarity and confidence.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in the Government/Defence industry.
  • Familiarity with ASDEFCON.
  • Ability to work with different project methodologies, including waterfall and Agile.
  • Knowledge of Agile Delivery methods (SAFe).
  • Fundamental project management knowledge and experience.
  • Tertiary level education in Project Management or a related field.
  • Understanding of Government procurement, finance, and reporting.
  • Motivation to lead a dynamic team in support of leading-edge technology.
