Your Role
You’ll report to the Head of Finance, and be an integral member of large, somewhat complex logistics business. You’ll bring your ideas to the table, and with various units working together during a transition over to MYOB, you’ll be solely responsible for the Accounting of one unit. Based in a busy trucking depot, your regular duties will include;
- Supporting the business during an extensive transition to MYOB
- The timely and accurate completion of Operations Financial and Statutory requirements including Payroll, Superannuation, Taxes and BAS
- Overseeing and undertaking book-keeping processes including multiple General Ledgers
- Reconciling AP/AR items
- Running payroll for the operation
- Managing data files including Account Reconciliation, Cash Flow Reports, Forecasting and Budgets
- Overseeing and participating in the Invoicing of major customers, Reconciliation, AP/AR, preparing ABA and loading to bank
- Providing financial recommendations and support regarding asset acquisition and disposals
- Providing financial insights to the SLT that help in the decision making process that align capital and resources across the business
- Working collaboratively with all departments during tenders and proposals
- Analysing operational and financial business activities, and understand critical cost drivers including statistical data and route improvements
The position is Full-time permanent, 8.30 – 5pm Monday- Friday. The salary guide will be commensurate with skills, and range between $70-85K + Super + Laptop. An unrestricted Drivers’ Licence is required for occasional travel between sites, and pre-employment medical and police clearances are required.
About You
- You're a go-getter, you love working with people and thrive under pressure
- You have at least 3+ years of experience as an Accountant or Assistant Accountant, ideally from a sizeable company
- You’re a natural problem solver, and hands-on in Invoicing, Managing Ledgers, Reconciliation, AP/AP and Payroll Processing
- You have a strong working background in MYOB and Excel
- You have relevant local tertiary qualifications although, not essential
- You have a solid working career in Accounting including financial management reporting, budgeting and commercial analysis
- You’re highly organised, a problem solver and work effectively and accurately to deadlines
