FREE RANGE – POULTRY FARM MANAGER
Our client is a diversified, family-owned agribusiness featuring a modern Free Range Poultry Farm, situated an hour's drive north of Adelaide. Specializing in livestock and food production, the company engages in a wide array of agricultural activities. On their behalf we are actively seeking a dynamic and seasoned Broiler Farm Manager to oversee and manage the Free Range Farm near Pt Wakefield. The chosen applicant will receive a competitive salary package, inclusive of a company vehicle for local travel and a company-provided house with utilities such as gas, electricity, and water covered.
The responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Lead by example in a team environment, setting clear expectations and overseeing the operations of the free-range poultry farm.
  • Operational Excellence : Ensure proper care and feeding of the birds, smoothly manage daily operations, and adhere to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strategy & Planning : Develop and implement production plans that optimize bird health, welfare, and productivity. Manage financial performance by effectively budgeting, controlling costs, and optimizing revenue.
  • Farm Staff Management : Manage the recruitment, training, and supervision of staff, including the provision of performance evaluations and feedback.
  • Documentation : Maintain up-to-date records of production, inventory, and farm activities.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify Risks : Identifying and mitigating potential risks is crucial for farm operations.
  • Biosecurity and Health : Implement crucial biosecurity protocols to manage bird health, which includes vaccination and disease management.
  • Compliance : Ensure farms meet all standards for animal welfare, environmental protection, and food safety.
Ideally the Successful Candidate would have:
  • A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Full Australian Work Rights.
  • Demonstrated expertise in poultry management and an extensive knowledge of poultry husbandry.
  • Possesses strong leadership skills, capable of motivating and managing teams effectively.
  • Outstanding problem-solving, organizational, and financial management abilities.
  • Understanding animal welfare standards, biosecurity measures, and regulatory compliance is crucial.
  • Proficient in record-keeping and data analysis.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
  • The ability to respond to farm emergencies on weekends and adapt to changing circumstances is essential.

You will receive an excellent salary plus superannuation and a performance bonus payable each quarter. You will be provided with a fully-maintained family house on site, including all services. Additionally, on-farm vehicles are available to assist staff with attending to on-site alarm calls and daily maintenance issues.
To qualify for this position, candidates must fulfill the criteria listed above. Additionally, candidates must possess full Australian Work Rights and be residing in Australia. Relocation assistance will be offered to ensure the ideal candidate is secured for the role.
