Cranbrook Care is looking for a Part Time Property Maintenance Officer to join the team at our premier aged care residence, William Cape Gardens, located near the Pacific Highway at Kanwal, a suburb of Wyong on the NSW Central Coast.

William Cape Gardens is a newly-renovated, state of the art aged care residence catering to local residents of the Central Coast, providing the full spectrum of care and services including Dementia Care, Palliative Care and Respite Care

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a part-time Property Maintenance Officer, you will have a hands-on role ensuring the presentation of a well-maintained environment which maximises safety and minimises risks for residents, visitors and staff at William Cape Gardens. You will be part of a team that is effective, capable and thriving in their work.

This is a part-time 4 day per week role. Working days are flexible and can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

You will:

  • Maintain high standards of presentation and safety for both internal and external areas of the residence at all times.
  • Facilitate the delivery of the maintenance program, completing works yourself and working with external contractors.
  • Be the go-to person for repairs ranging from minor patching and painting to minor repairs and maintenance of equipment.
  • Provide initial troubleshooting of both urgent and non-urgent issues.
  • Manage stock deliveries and storage.
  • Be able to learn our internal systems and programs to assist as required.
  • Proactive maintenance will be a priority.
ABOUT YOU

This job will suit a handyman preferably with experience in the building, repair and maintenance industry.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the delivery and monitoring of a property maintenance program.
  • Experience in repairs and maintenance of buildings, furniture, equipment and grounds.
  • Ability to patch and paint, or a willingness to learn.
  • IT skills for communication and planning purposes.
  • Ability to motivate and work well with other property services staff.
  • Experience maintaining relationships with and managing external contractors.
  • Ability to perform repairs on furniture, fittings and equipment.
  • Knowledge of handling and storage of chemicals.
  • Experience of property maintenance in aged care desirable but not essential.
  • LR Drivers licence preferred.
