Why is this role for you?Let’s be honest – the market is a bit mad and turbulent at the moment. Companies are going bust every week, subbies are being squeezed by builders and new projects are being put on hold.
However, not every company is feeling the pinch. In fact, well run ones with a good bank balance are thriving. Clients are giving them more work as they now have a track record of getting the jobs done on time and budget.
So this is where you come in.
As a SM you’d get plenty of support from the office team, the subbies won’t be pestering you to get paid every week and you’d build projects in sectors they understand and have delivered in before.
You’d get a mix of work on new builds and fitout’s and you won’t get bored as it’s across health, education, commercial and local government so always different.
Initially you’d start on a brand-new project and they are mostly in the Sydney Metro area so travel is minimal.
You’ll get more time with your friends and family as Saturday work is on a roster and some sites don’t have Saturdays at all so you’ll mostly work a 5-day week.
The salary range is within the $180-$220k package range plus a yearly bonus.

- You have a trade background and ideally a CERT IV in Construction
- You’ve delivered new build projects up to $20 million+ previously in Australia
- You’ve worked as the lead SM or foreman on aged care, commercial or education projects previously
