Our client is looking for an Operations Manager for their Sydney office. This role requires someone with extensive experience in Operations Management, preferably within Healthcare or Aged Care.
The Position

The Operations Manager is to provide leadership to the Operations Team and ensure efficient daily management of the company's warehouse, service and delivery functions in line with the overall company objectives.
The Operations Manager must ensure all nominated areas of responsibility are operating efficiently and smoothly utilising both a strategic and tactical approach.
They must demonstrate an “industry best” practice and show continuous improvement. At the same time ensuring that all company processes and procedures are adhered to.
Staff wellbeing and customer satisfaction are to be maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build, implement and manage logistic systems and practices to ensure the company provides best in class warehousing service and delivery
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy for inventory across all warehouses;
    - Comprehensive training of staff in company systems and procedures
    - Conducting and reporting of cycle counts (to agreed metric)
    - Timely and accurate stock movements (to agreed metric)
    - Accuracy of goods receipt and ensure incoming quality inspections are conducted
  • Manage and streamline processes and procedures for the Service & Delivery business units (including contracts such as HNE / H5, Mac Health, Enable, Regis etc)
  • Work with IT to develop and enhance the company's ERP systems SAP, NORM, HUBSPOT, BOYUM etc to ensure optimal business processes for your areas of responsibility that are defined and measurable
  • Assist with the setting of relevant budgets across all areas of responsibility, including: Staff ratios & associated costs, consumables, motor vehicles, and capital equipment
  • Oversee the Purchasing team including vendor selection, supplier negotiation & management,
  • Identify and implement cost saving initiatives across the business units · Manage OH&S and WHS
  • Embracing the company’s Quality Management System(s)
  • Develop Risk Analysis assessments
  • Facilities management (lease management / fire / alarm / access control / security / lift / HVAC)
  • Peer to peer relationships up and down the line
  • Develop, lead and mentor your team, building work plans for yourself and team members (with set timelines and milestones) in line with the company’s objectives. This includes BAU activities and projects
  • Provide a combination of primarily strategic direction with tactical or hands on approach – hands on only when the direct report is unable to complete the task to expectation
  • Maintaining up to date Job Descriptions in conjunction with defined and measurable KPI’s for each functional area

The Operations Manager will oversee the following areas of the company:
  • Warehouse (10 people)
  • Inventory (1 person)
  • Purchasing (4 people)
  • Delivery Drivers and Technicians (15 people)

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate would be someone who really understands good warehouse practices (receiving, stocktake, intercompany transfers etc.), has worked in organisations that have grown so are familiar with the need to implement more sophisticated solutions. They need to be familiar with change management and be highly technical as they will be working closely with IT and other stakeholders to improve the technical support across the operations processes (eg. Develop ERP solutions).

Technical Skills:
  • Service Management
  • Computer literacy skills (SAP / Microsoft)
  • Knowledge of process and procedures
  • Knowledge of SAP B1
  • Knowledge of cycle counting and stocktaking
  • Negotiation & influencing skills
