Internal Expression of Interest: Senior Infection Control Nurse Coordinator: Permanent Part-Time, 0.4 FTE

As a Senior Infection Control Nurse Coordinator, you will provide clinical expertise and mentoring to the infection control nurse teams across all the four (4) hospitals.
Reporting to the Senior Quality, Safety, Risk & Compliance Manager, this role will assist in the development of a UCH Infection Control Framework to provide strategic direction in adherence with regulatory compliance requirements and assist collaboration across all services and support functions to minimise the impact of healthcare associated colonisation/infection.

Essential
- A registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, preferably with substantial post basic experience in Nursing
- Substantial experience in Infection Control
- A sound understanding of the principles of infection prevention & control and outbreak management
- The ability to interpret Infection Control and Waste Management Standards and develop / implement related policies and procedures
- Sound problem solving, analytical, attention to detail and negotiation skills
- High level written (including report writing) and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Acts as a change agent to support the implementation of best practice resulting in service improvement
- Maintains a high profile in wards and at clinical meetings
Desirable:
- Practical experience in:
- Immunisation management
- Australian Immunisation Register
- Hand Hygiene Audit and reporting
- Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Management
- Post Graduate certificate in Infection and Control
- Post Graduate certificate in management
